I have had a lot of fun the last few days looking at some of the mp3's available on IT Conversations. If you have not looked at it yet, I highly recommend it. I have gotten tons of valuable information from it by just listening while I program.

As a very small sampler of some of the information available on the site, consider a fact from a conversation with Bruce Schneier. In that audio file, he points out:

3454 people in the United States died in 2001 from starvation.
2978 people in the United States died from terrorist attacks (9/11).
The US is spending about 200B on fighting terrorists.

How much is it spending on fighting starvation?
