Good post today on Venture Blog about the effect of technology (for one person). I think it is interesting to really think about technology and how it is effecting our daily lives. Does technology make our lives better? Pre-industrial revolution you would have spent your entire life (all 40 years of it) no more then 10 miles from your entire family. You would have known EVERYBODY. ...and you would be working outside all day with your mates / family. Obviously I am focusing on the positives - but think about it. How many people working in western society long to be back at the farm? Live somewhere with a sense of community? Develop calluses instead of RSI from an honest days work? How many people really need their cell phone?
